YSL Beauté, a subsidiary of L'Oréal, partnered with Re:wild to invest directly in critical biodiversity projects to achieve their goal of protecting and restoring 100,000 hectares by 2030. To kick off this effort, YSL Beauty worked with Re:wild to identify important areas for biodiversity that also overlapped with regions where they sustainably source ingredients. Following their commitment to responsible agriculture and ecosystem restoration in Morocco, YSL Beauty contributed to projects that protect and restore ecosystems in Haiti, Indonesia, and Madagascar. Future efforts will focus on additional regions around the world, and share the importance of protecting the wild with YSL Beauty consumers worldwide.
The new program, called Rewild Our Earth, is a new pillar within YSL Beauty’s corporate responsibility work alongside Abuse is Not Love, which raises awareness around intimate partner violence and has reached an estimated 400 million people, and Reduce our Impact, which limits their products impact on the environment at each stage of the life cycle.
YSL Beauty and Re:wild launched Rewild Our Earth in April 2022, and Re:wild participated in the brand’s influencer and press event in Morocco in May 2022. The initiative has received coverage around the globe including in Vogue, Essence and Bloomberg.
Since then, YSL Beauty has expanded its commitment to Rewild Our Earth, contributing to projects in Canada, the Bahamas, and Colombia.
