Shorouk Elkobrosi

Shorouk is a wildlife strategist, science storyteller, and cinematographer.

For over a decade, she has worked at the intersection of science, storytelling, and conservation, collaborating with international teams, scientists, and mission-driven partners to turn complex ideas into stories that move people closer to the natural world. Along the way, she has partnered with organizations including PBS Earth, the National Geographic Society, and the BBC Climate Team, developing stories about species ranging from amphibians and sharks to leatherback sea turtles.

Shorouk began her career in science, earning an MSc in Physics and Climate Sciences from the University of Hamburg. Her curiosity about how people connect with scientific ideas eventually led her behind the camera, where she earned an MA in Cinematography from MetFilm London. Her work has taken her across the globe, from the United States to Germany, France, Austria, and the UK, documenting the relationships between wildlife, climate, and human impact.

Raised beside the Mediterranean in Alexandria and now based in Monterey, California, Shorouk has never strayed far from the sea. Outside of work, she is happiest underwater, diving and filming. Her favorite sharks are hammerheads, and she has a soft spot for nudibranchs.
