Silvia Usuriaga is a conservation and operations specialist with over 15 years of experience working across international nonprofit organizations to advance biodiversity conservation, support Indigenous and local communities, and strengthen institutional operations. Silvia supports Re:wild’s programmatic efforts in the Tropical Andes, contributing her expertise in grants management, data-driven monitoring and evaluation, partner engagement, and cross-sector collaboration to amplify Re:wild's conservation impact across Latin America.
She has led high-impact initiatives in the Peruvian Amazon, including the successful implementation and transfer of a 4-million-acre protected area program that became a national model for participatory, community-based conservation. With a culturally diverse background and experience overseeing projects in the Andean region and Brazil, Silvia brings a nuanced understanding of regional dynamics and a collaborative approach to international conservation.
Originally from Iquitos, Peru, Silvia is now based in San Diego, California. She holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Ramon Llull University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana. Outside of work, Silvia is a proud mother to a spirited three-year-old and enjoys playing beach volleyball, spending time in nature, and engaging in creative pursuits.
