Isabel M. Vique is a conservation professional with over 20 years of experience leading biodiversity initiatives across three continents. Her work bridges strategic planning, species conservation, and organisational development, with a strong focus on empowering local governments and community-based organisations to drive conservation from the ground up. She is currently Re:wild’s Caribbean Technical Adviser, supporting partner organisations across the region in strengthening biodiversity monitoring, conservation planning, and organisational development.

Born in Spain, Isabel began her conservation journey as a Ranger Assistant in a raptor reserve, working with WWF. She later contributed to ecological restoration efforts in key protected areas, including habitat enhancement for the endangered Iberian Lynx. After moving to the United Kingdom, she eventually joined the Americas and Caribbean Programme at Fauna & Flora, where she worked on species conservation in Nicaragua and across the Eastern Caribbean. Since 2018, Isabel has led a regional capacity-building programme focused on countering wildlife crime, helping to facilitate a network of law enforcement officers responding to the emerging illegal trade in native Caribbean species. This work continues to shape regional cooperation and awareness around wildlife protection.

Isabel is also a Trustee and Vice-chair of the Wild Isle Trust, which oversees the Barbados Sea Turtle Project, and an active member of the IUCN Iguana Specialist Group. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
