Road to COP30
“There is no path to success without nature—and those who protect it.”
June 26, 2025
This week at London Climate Action Week, global leaders and organizations - including Re:wild, The Royal Foundation, and The Forest & Climate Leaders' Partnership - are rallying behind a bold new call to action ahead of COP30: to center Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the fight for nature, climate, and justice. With COP30 on the horizon, this is a pivotal moment to scale ambition, secure land rights, and unlock direct funding for those protecting Earth’s most vital ecosystems.
Amplifying Indigenous Voices
At the 2025 Tribeca Festival, Leonardo DiCaprio underscored the urgency of protecting the Amazon and the Indigenous communities who defend it. His remarks were delivered at the premiere of YANUNI, a gripping new documentary that follows Indigenous leader Juma Xipaia, the first female chief of her people in the Middle Xingu, as she bravely resists land grabs and environmental destruction in the heart of Brazil.
From the screen to the global stage, YANUNI and its courageous subject—Juma—are a testament to the power of Indigenous leadership in the fight for climate, sovereignty, and justice.
