Galápagos Islands update: Congratulations to Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso and Ecuador's Ministry of the Environment on the creation of a new 23,166-square-mile Marine Protected Area, announced 11/2 at COP26. The new MPA will help safeguard a key swim-way for a number of imperiled marine species, including Endangered Whale Sharks and Critically Endangered Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks.
