Re:wild Your Campus is a women-led organization that envisions a toxin-free world fueled by student action. We work on college campuses to protect students’ and groundskeepers’ health, foster biodiversity, and promote climate resilience by empowering the next generation of youth leaders. Our team is seeking confident, highly diligent candidates with relevant experience for the role of Development Specialist to start in mid-June 2023. This individual will join a small, tight-knit team and will be responsible for expanding our funding base and ensuring long-term sustainability of the organization. This candidate will also have the opportunity to engage more directly with students by helping to plan and implement Re:wild Your Campus’s Ground Up Advocacy Bootcamp, an online training for emerging leaders on environmental justice, pesticides, and movement building.
Development Specialist Responsibilities:
Development (90%):
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that targets private foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors, valuing a minimum of $350K with annual growth expectations
Write grant proposals, reports, and other fundraising materials, and ensure timely submission
Plan and execute fundraising events, donor recognition activities, and other outreach efforts in coordination with the Project Director
Support the Project Director in managing donor cultivation and engagement/touchpoints with existing donors
Coordinate with Re:wild, Re:wild Your Campus’s fiscal sponsor, to manage quarterly financial documents, including tracking payments to consultants and incoming funds from foundations, corporations, and individuals
Spearhead the creation of Re:wild Your Campus’s Annual Report, including research, data collection, design, and copywriting
Support the Project Director in development and execution of our annual fundraising plan
Curriculum (10%):
Plan and implement the Ground Up Advocacy Bootcamp, a training for emerging leaders on environmental justice, pesticides, and movement building
Based on previously hosted bootcamps, improve the curriculum to meet our goals in terms of reach and effective engagement
Development Specialist Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
1-3 years experience with development/fundraising, with a proven track record of success
Very strong writing and communication skills, with experience in grant writing and donor communications and cultivation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Familiarity with environmental science, sustainable agriculture, ecology, or public health preferred but not required
Interest in environmental, racial, and social justice movements
Experience working in the non-profit space
Strong, strategic, and confident leadership
Strong organizational and financial management skills

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience
